OVER 35 MUSLIMS KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT NEAR SAMUNAKA, KADUNA STATE

A tragic road accident near Samunaka in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State resulted in the deaths of over 35 Muslims who were traveling to celebrate Maulud.

The victims were traveling in a J5 bus when it collided head-on with an articulated vehicle.

Malam Abdullahi, one of the Maulud celebration organizers, reported that the accident disrupted their plans. He shared, “We had around 70 people, including women and children, in our group. I personally counted the victims. It was a heartbreaking scene.”

The injured, numbering over 35, have been transported to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) in Plateau State for medical treatment. Additionally, another vehicle in their convoy was involved in a separate accident with a motorcycle, causing further fatalities and injuries.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement on the incident. This tragedy has cast a pall over the Maulud celebrations in Kaduna State, leaving the community in mourning.
