In 2024, the Osun State Government, under Governor Ademola Adeleke, has invested ₦2 billion in 267 micro projects across the state. This investment aims to improve basic and social amenities in both urban and rural areas.
Mrs. Funmi Abokede, General Manager of the Osun Community and Social Development Agency, shared this information during a two-day media engagement on the Programme Result Initiative (PRI) in Osogbo. She highlighted that the projects, funded through the Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (CARES), focus on water, education, healthcare, and sanitation.
Key achievements include the construction of a development center for people with disabilities in Edunabon town, which is unique in Nigeria and has attracted interest from other states. The center provides opportunities for people with disabilities to showcase their skills in various trades.
Abokede emphasized the importance of maintaining these projects for sustainability and urged the media to help educate communities on their upkeep. She also praised Governor Adeleke for his ongoing support and commitment to the agency’s mission of delivering essential services to the state’s grassroots communities.
