Victor Osimhen made a significant impact in Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier. The Galatasaray striker scored just six minutes after coming on as a substitute in the 72nd minute.

The current African Player of the Year extended Nigeria’s lead with an impressive acrobatic finish, assisted by Wilfred Ndidi. This goal marked Osimhen’s 22nd for the Super Eagles.

Following his performance, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) praised Osimhen, highlighting his swift and decisive contribution. CAF took to social media to celebrate, noting, “Only 6 minutes were needed to open his account for the season, @victorosimhen9 simply can’t be stopped.”

Osimhen continues to be a key player for Nigeria as they advance in their AFCON qualifiers.
