The Aare Gani Adams faction of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) is actively pursuing a partnership with governors across the South-West to address security issues in the region. Speaking at the 30th anniversary celebration of the OPC in Agege on Wednesday, Adams emphasized the group’s readiness to collaborate with state governments and other security agencies to enhance safety.

Adams highlighted that OPC members are currently employed as security guards in various private and corporate offices throughout the South-Western states. He urged the governors to consider the proposed partnership, which aims to leverage the capabilities of OPC in tackling insecurity.

The group, which has made significant strides over the past three decades, has faced numerous challenges but remains committed to fostering peace and security in local communities. Adams stressed that a formal collaboration with state governments could bolster the efforts of both the OPC and government security agencies.

Prof. Kolawole Raheem, Chairman of the anniversary organizing committee, noted the OPC’s achievements and recognized the contributions of pioneering members. Oba Buari Ola-Balogun, the Onirokun of Irokun in Ogun State, called for continued peace and support for the OPC members in their security roles.

The anniversary event, which celebrated 30 years of OPC’s existence, was attended by various executives and state delegates.
