President Bola Tinubu’s former campaign spokesman in the Southeast, Dr. Josef Onoh, has cautioned comedian Muhammad Jamil, also known as Jadda Garko, who accused the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, of neglecting road infrastructure in the North while focusing on the South.

Onoh stated that he would have ignored Garko’s comments but felt compelled to clarify the situation to prevent the comedian from misleading well-informed and respected Northerners and Nigerians as a whole.

In a recent accusation made in Abuja, Garko labeled Minister Umahi a tribalist for allegedly abandoning road projects in the northern parts of Nigeria in favor of those in the South.

In response, Onoh emphasized that individuals like Garko contribute to discontent in the country due to their delusions, pointing out that since the Tinubu administration, Garko and others have played various ethical cards simply because a Southerner won the 2023 presidential election.

He urged Garko to address the insecurity issues created in Northern Nigeria, which he described as a significant challenge for road construction in that region.

Onoh added, “Despite all these kicks from Garko and his co-comedians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope road infrastructure projects have been fairly distributed across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, with more road projects executed in the North than in the South.”

He reaffirmed that the Honourable Minister of Works has diligently and transparently implemented road infrastructure interventions nationwide, covering projects funded through budgetary provisions and other financing methods, including the Renewed Hope Legacy road projects, ongoing inherited projects, and emergency intervention projects
