Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Pastor Michael Nwanneadizia Osume, a dedicated political associate and supporter. Pastor Osume, an influential chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha South, Delta State, passed away last week after a brief illness.
In his tribute, Omo-Agege described Pastor Osume as a strong advocate for the vision of a “new Delta” and a key figure in his 2023 gubernatorial campaign. He remarked, “Pastor Michael Osume was not just a pillar of support for the campaign but a reliable partner, strategist, and advocate. He understood the dynamics of politics in Delta, an attribute that only a few had.”
Omo-Agege further praised Pastor Osume’s deep commitment to his community, his expertise in navigating political affairs, and his dedication to the APC cause in Delta North. Despite the challenges faced by their party, Omo-Agege noted that Osume’s efforts led to a remarkable performance in the election.
As a clergyman, Pastor Osume applied Christian virtues to his political engagements. Omo-Agege said, “If Nigeria had political leaders like him, this country would be on the fast lane to quality leadership and development.”
Pastor Michael Osume, a native of Agidiese Quarters, Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, was also the founder and president of Aniocha Peoples Voice (APV). Omo-Agege extended his heartfelt condolences to the Osume family and the Delta North APC, praying for the repose of Pastor Osume’s soul.
