Polling unit results uploaded by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the INEC Results Viewing (IReV) portal reveal that Labour Party candidate Olumide Akpata has fallen behind in the Edo Governorship election race. As of this report, 89.93% of the results have been uploaded, covering 3,895 out of 4,519 polling units in the state.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Monday Okpebholo, maintain a strong lead in Edo North, while Asue Ighodalo dominates in Edo South. In polling units like Igbira Camp Booth, Owan West, and Uvbenisi-Uvbenisi Primary School, APC leads with a healthy margin over both Labour Party and PDP.

In some local governments, such as Egor and Oredo, the contest remains competitive, with PDP and APC exchanging small leads.

At Akpata’s polling unit in Oredo LGA, he lost to Ighodalo, polling 32 votes against Ighodalo’s 41, while the APC candidate received 19 votes.

Meanwhile, Okpebholo won his own polling unit with 102 votes, and the PDP candidate secured his stronghold with 200 votes in Esan South-East LGA. However, INEC remains the sole body authorized to declare the official winner of the election.
