Olamide has unveiled the music video for his hit single “Uptown Disco,” featuring Asake and Fireboy. The track is a standout from his latest EP Ikigai, which means “reason for being” in Japanese.
Released on August 14, 2024, the vibrant video, directed by Jyde Ajala, showcases Fireboy in a high-speed chase and features Olamide and Asake performing against a backdrop of dancers and lively visuals. Since its surprise release, Ikigai has enjoyed a strong reception, with its lead single “Metaverse” hitting the top 10 of the TurnTable Top 100.
The EP, Olamide’s 10th solo project, has garnered 7.92 million streams in its first week, continuing the artist’s decade-long run of success in Nigerian mainstream music.
