“Oladips Accuses Wizkid of Intellectual Property Theft Over Lyric Sampling”
Nigerian rapper Oladips has called out Grammy-winning artist Wizkid for allegedly using lyrics from his song “Ajala Travel Remix” in Wizkid’s recent collaboration with Asake, “MMS.” Oladips shared screenshots of the lyrics from both tracks on Instagram to highlight the similarities.
Despite a fan’s comment that sampling is common practice, Oladips stressed that proper acknowledgment is necessary. He stated, “It’s normal if you acknowledge the source! Not pretending like you don’t know me but then biting my lyrics in secret.” As of now, Wizkid has not responded to the accusations.
