OGUN POLICE ARREST FOUR SUSPECTED AYE CONFRATERNITY MEMBERS

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended four suspected members of the Aye Confraternity, accused of terrorizing the residents of Ijoko, Sango-Ota, and surrounding areas.

The command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, identified the suspects as Olanide Balogun, Olamilekan Oyedele, Adeolu Olayinka, and Abdulganiyu Azeez. They were arrested at around 3:00 pm on Wednesday.

Odutola detailed that the suspects’ modus operandi involved breaking car windows and attacking innocent road users during traffic jams. Acting on a tip-off, the Divisional Police Officer of Sango-Ota led a raid that resulted in their capture.

Although the suspects initially attempted to flee upon seeing the police operatives, the DPO managed to apprehend one, leading to the subsequent arrest of the others. The suspects will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
