NYSC WARNS KATSINA OFFICIALS AGAINST EXTORTION, SOCIALISING WITH CORPS MEMBERS

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator in Katsina State, Alhaji Sa’idu Ibrahim, has issued a stern warning to officials against extorting corps members and engaging in excessive socialization with them during the orientation camp. This directive was given during a briefing on Tuesday in preparation for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation course, which is set to begin nationwide on Wednesday.

Ibrahim emphasized the importance of the officials redoubling their efforts to ensure the success of the orientation course. He also urged collaborating agencies and the general staff to work closely with the climate-setting committee to warmly welcome the prospective corps members (PCMs) as they arrive at the camp.

On the issue of security, Ibrahim reminded the officials not to compromise and advised them to contact him directly if any urgent matters arise. He also directed that all camp officials maintain a clean environment and adhere to proper dress codes throughout the programme.

The Camp Director, Alhaji Aliyu Sani, reiterated the importance of following camp rules and regulations and called for synergy among the officials. Meanwhile, the Camp Commandant, Lt. Oiza Ehinlaiye, encouraged maximum support and cooperation among the camp officials, assuring the state coordinator of a smooth and trouble-free orientation course.
