Recently, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, announced that ministers would receive 1,200 bags of rice each for another round of distribution as palliatives. This announcement has sparked a backlash on social media.
Critics are calling for variety beyond rice to address the monotony. Other users, like @leeeymarrrrh, commented on the excessive reliance on rice compared to the historical context of the Israelites, and @AfcMacdon questioned whether rice alone could address Nigeria’s economic issues.
