The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has officially endorsed Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, for the upcoming September 21 governorship election in Edo State. This announcement was made on Wednesday by Comrade Isaac Ogieva, the Deputy Coordinator of NANS Zone B, during a press briefing in Benin.
Ogieva stated that the decision to support Ighodalo was reached after thorough consultations with relevant stakeholders within the association. He highlighted that the candidates from various political parties were carefully evaluated before NANS decided to back the PDP candidate.
The NANS leadership expressed satisfaction with the PDP’s manifesto, particularly in the areas of education, economy, agriculture, health, infrastructure, youth development, and sports. Ogieva emphasized that the PDP candidate’s commitment to uplifting the welfare of Nigerian students in Edo State played a significant role in their decision.
Ogieva urged all Nigerian students in Edo to support and vote for Asue Ighodalo, stating that NANS leadership would act as a bridge between students and the government if the PDP candidate is elected.
