NIGERIAN ARMY SUCCESSFULLY RESCUES KIDNAPPED STUDENTS AND NEUTRALIZES TERRORISTS IN MULTIPLE OPERATIONS

On September 12, 2024, the Nigerian Army executed a series of successful operations against terrorist groups in Kaduna and Niger States, resulting in significant victories.

Operation in Kaduna: Troops raided a terrorist stronghold in Chigbolu village, Kachia Local Government Area, based on reliable intelligence. During this intense operation, they rescued 13 kidnapped individuals—six males and seven females. The rescued victims have been evacuated to 1 Division Medical Services and Hospital for medical attention. The troops engaged in a fierce firefight with the terrorists, neutralizing several insurgents and capturing others alive. They recovered:

  • 1 AK-47 rifle
  • Ammunition and magazines
  • 1 locally fabricated rifle
  • Cash

Additional Operations:

  1. Intercepting Logistics Suppliers: In Kagarko village, troops intercepted two notorious terrorist logistics suppliers, Mallam Usman Waikili and Salisu Idris. They confiscated cash, SIM cards, mobile phones, and other items linked to terrorist activities.
  2. Suleja Operation: In Suleja, Niger State, troops neutralized three terrorists and captured three others. The captured suspects led the troops to a hidden armoury where additional arms and ammunition were recovered.

The Nigerian Army has commended the troops for their exceptional performance and urged them to maintain their efforts to ensure peace and security across all regions. These operations underscore the ongoing commitment to counter-terrorism and the protection of civilians.
