NIGERIAN ARMY RETIRES 15 GENERALS FROM ARTILLERY CORPS IN KADUNA CEREMONY

The Nigerian Army has officially retired 15 generals from the Artillery Corps during a ceremony held at the Nigerian Army School of Artillery (NASA) in Kachia, Kaduna State. This group of retirees includes 11 Major Generals and 4 Brigadier Generals.

Maj Gen James Myam (rtd) represented the retired officers at the pulling-out parade, reflecting on their lengthy military careers with a sense of fulfillment and gratitude. He attributed their successes to divine grace, acknowledging God’s protection throughout their years of service. Myam also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, wishing him continued strength and wisdom in his leadership of the Nigerian Army.

Looking back on their military journeys, Maj Gen Myam recalled their initial days at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna as Officer Cadets. He advised current officers to remain loyal to the Constitution and the democratically elected government, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and security consciousness.

Additionally, the retired general expressed gratitude to their families, spouses, friends, instructors, and mentors who supported them throughout their careers. The ceremony was attended by several senior retired and serving military officers, including former Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Alwali Kazir (rtd).
