NIGERIAN ARMY NEUTRALIZES FOUR TERRORISTS AND RESCUES 20 HOSTAGES IN SEPARATE OPERATIONS

Following an ongoing offensive, the Nigerian Army neutralized four terrorists and rescued 20 kidnapped hostages in separate operations on Tuesday.

In Alawa Forest, Niger State, and Hayin Nakwakina village, Kaduna State, troops engaged in gunfights with terrorists. The operations led to the recovery of weapons and other logistics from the terrorists.

The Army reported that on September 17, 2024, troops intercepted terrorists moving from Alawa Forest to Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State. The ambush resulted in the elimination of two terrorists, with others fleeing. Recovered items included two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, and three motorcycles.

In a separate operation, troops ambushed terrorists in Hayin Nakwakina village, neutralizing two terrorists and restoring normalcy to the area. The troops recovered two motorcycles, a mobile phone, and machetes.

Additionally, troops responded to a distress call and rescued 20 hostages abducted along the Kwaga-Polewire axis in Birnin Gwari. The rescue followed a shootout that forced the terrorists to flee.
