The Nigerian Army has announced that the immediate past Commander of the 3 Brigade in Kano, Brig.-Gen. MA Sadiq, is currently under military investigation for administrative discrepancies during his tenure. This information was disclosed in a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, on Wednesday in Abuja.
Nwachukwu noted that Brig.-Gen. Sadiq was relieved of his command to facilitate a comprehensive investigation into the allegations.
He emphasized that the Nigerian Army is a self-regulatory institution founded on the principles of discipline, justice, and accountability. The Army maintains a zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline and will not condone any misconduct that undermines its core values.
“The Nigerian Army assures both our internal and external publics that the allegations will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate administrative action will be taken,” Nwachukwu stated.
He further affirmed the Army’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency, assuring that the investigation process would be fair, impartial, and conducted in accordance with established procedures.
