This clarification follows a report from an online platform that claimed, “Chief of Army Staff dies of cancer,” which had gained traction among users yesterday.

In a statement, the army urged the public to disregard these rumors, stating, “Please, disregard the rumours circulating about the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja. The false reports purported by unverifiable sources are baseless and misleading.”

The army emphasized the importance of relying on credible sources for information and advised the public to be cautious of misinformation from unreliable outlets.
