Nicki Minaj recently captivated Nigerian fans with her use of Pidgin English on X (formerly Twitter). In a video, she expressed her appreciation for the language by learning new words from Ayra Starr’s hit single “Rush.”

The rapper’s post read, “LMFAOOOO. Nigeria will not end me o! Sabi girl no Dey too like talk My words take the express elevator to the most high chi. I will show them pepper,” showcasing her familiarity with Pidgin English and referencing popular lyrics from Ayra Starr’s song.

Minaj’s connection with Nigerian culture extends beyond this recent post. She previously collaborated with Afrobeats star Davido on the track “Holy Ground” from his album A Better Time and has teased an upcoming record featuring Burna Boy, further strengthening her ties to the Nigerian music scene.
