The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently conducted a raid on a drug party in Abuja, resulting in the arrest of 60 suspects. According to spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the party, named “Go hard or Go Home, Pick Your Poison,” was held at an apartment in Sun City estate, FCT. The operation followed credible intelligence and targeted the organizer, Stanley Ikechukwu, who was apprehended at the scene.

During the raid, the NDLEA arrested 25 males and 35 females. Among them, six suspects were found in possession of ecstasy and cannabis. Additionally, 20 suspects who tested negative for drugs were released unconditionally, while 33 others who tested positive were granted bail and required to report to the FCT Command for treatment and counseling starting Monday.

In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives in Edo State arrested four suspects and destroyed 18,632.22 kilograms of cannabis on a farmland in Ugun, Igueben Local Government Area. Additionally, on June 28, along the Lekki-Ikoyi road, NDLEA recovered 40.32kg of “Loud,” a potent strain of imported cannabis, from a vehicle whose driver fled upon noticing the agency’s presence.

The NDLEA continues its nationwide efforts under the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA), conducting sensitization campaigns in schools, worship centers, workplaces, and communities. Recent outreach activities include engagements at institutions like First Technical University in Ibadan, Government Day Secondary School in Yola, and Ezeike High School in Nibo, Anambra State.

These operations reflect the NDLEA’s ongoing commitment to combating drug trafficking and abuse across Nigeria through enforcement actions and public awareness initiatives.
