Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has offered heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Borno State in the wake of a severe flood disaster. In a message to Governor Prof Babagana Zulum, Marwa expressed empathy for the governor, the Shehu of Borno, and the flood victims, assuring them of solidarity during this challenging period.
Similarly, the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, conveyed his sympathy to Governor Zulum and the people of Borno, praising the governor’s swift response and decisive measures to address the crisis.
General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, also extended deep condolences to Borno’s government and residents. He assured that the Armed Forces of Nigeria would collaborate with relevant authorities to provide immediate relief and support to the affected communities.
The flood disaster has displaced thousands and severely impacted property, with 70% of Maiduguri submerged. The NDLEA Chairman, Minister of Defence, and Chief of Defence Staff commended the resilience of Borno’s people and pledged support for the state government’s relief efforts.
