The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended wanted drug kingpin Damilare Ajiboye, also known as “Na God,” after a year on the run. His arrest occurred during a raid on his warehouse in the Akala area of Mushin, Lagos.

NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi announced that Ajiboye was captured on Wednesday, following a coordinated effort by the agency’s Directorate of Assets and Financial Investigation, which identified and blocked 20 bank accounts linked to him. During the raid on September 4, 2023, agents recovered 1,101 kg of Ghana Loud, a potent strain of cannabis.

In related news, the NDLEA also arrested Alhaji Bashir Talba, a wanted community leader and Sarkin Yamma of Badagry, along with his two wives and son, after seizing 226.2 kg of cannabis from their residences on September 18.

Additionally, NDLEA operatives in Lagos recovered over 9.7 kg of cannabis sativa and 50 liters of “monkey tail,” a mix of cannabis and dry gin, from suspect Florence Moses in the Badore area of Ajah, Lekki, on September 24.

In Kogi State, three suspects—Owolabi Dele, 42; Ayodele Monday, 40; and Olawale Ojo, 22—were arrested along the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway while transporting 132 sacks of cannabis weighing 2,062 kg in a Mercedes container truck from Osun to Abuja. Another suspect, Benedict Simire, 57, was also arrested on Ayetoro road, Kabba, with 33.40 kg of cannabis and a pump-action gun containing six cartridges on September 25.
