Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has clarified the tenure of the current Governing Board, asserting that members are appointed for a four-year term. This statement addresses recent rumors suggesting his tenure would end this year.
During a press conference at the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt, Ogbuku debunked the false claims about the end of his tenure. Ogbuku criticized those attempting to disrupt the board’s tenure, highlighting that the current board is working effectively to fulfill President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate for the Niger Delta region. He condemned efforts by individuals with selfish agendas who seek to destabilize the commission and revert it to periods of instability.
The NDDC MD assured that the board and management remain committed to their goal of transitioning from transactions to transformation. He urged critics to await the completion of his reappointed term, promising continued progress on people-oriented projects.
