Nasarawa State House of Assembly Speaker Danladi Jatau has urged Governor Abdullahi Sule to prioritize the renovation of the assembly complex, which has not been fully overhauled since 2012.
During an inspection tour of the complex in Lafia on Wednesday, Jatau expressed concern about the deteriorating state of the building. He highlighted that many offices have become unsuitable for lawmakers and staff due to malfunctioning facilities, including broken air conditioners and other non-operational appliances.
Jatau emphasized the importance of functional workspaces for efficient legislative operations, stating that a “conducive environment is crucial to sound and robust legislature.” He appealed to Governor Sule to address these issues to enhance the assembly’s productivity.
Despite these challenges, Jatau acknowledged the governor’s commitment to the welfare of assembly members and staff and pledged the House’s continued support for the governor’s administration. He stressed the urgency of renovating the assembly complex for effective legislative duties.
