Nasarawa lawmaker disburses ₦20m to 130 constituents

Luka Iliya Zhekaba, the Minority Leader of the Nasarawa House of Assembly and a PDP chieftain, recently disbursed 20 million naira as a palliative measure to 130 members of his constituency. This initiative, held in Duduguru, Obi Local Government Area, aimed to alleviate the economic hardships faced by constituents due to the country’s prevailing economic situation.

During the event, Zhekaba expressed his commitment to improving the standard of living in his constituency. He distributed cash gifts ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦50,000 among the beneficiaries. Additionally, he inaugurated a committee tasked with devising modalities for awarding scholarships to students in his constituency, underscoring his dedication to education and community welfare.

In his address, Zhekaba acknowledged the challenging economic conditions across the country and pledged to continue implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing livelihoods in his constituency. He urged patience from those who did not benefit immediately, promising to sustain his people-oriented programs.

The event was attended by prominent figures including the Speaker of the House, Danladi Jatau, and other PDP leaders. Speaker Jatau commended Zhekaba for his proactive leadership and commitment to the development of his constituency. Local party officials also praised Zhekaba’s consistent support for his constituents and pledged continued backing for his initiatives.
