The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has announced that it is investigating the sale of unregistered miracle water, soap, and other products by Prophet Jeremiah Omoto of Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries in Delta State. The agency, through its Resident Media Consultant, Olusayo Akintola, disclosed that these products, which include various types of miracle water and soap, are being falsely advertised as having NAFDAC approval and healing powers.

NAFDAC initiated the investigation following multiple petitions from concerned citizens. The products in question, such as the “miracle water,” “River Jordan water,” and “water from the pool of Bethsaida,” were claimed to cure barrenness and other ailments. Omoto had allegedly advertised these products on social media, claiming they were NAFDAC certified, which attracted public interest.

When NAFDAC officials visited the church, the staff denied producing or selling these products, despite evidence to the contrary. The investigation has also revealed that the church had entered into an illegal production agreement with Globod Table Water, which has since been sealed by NAFDAC for aiding in the production and sale of unregistered and potentially harmful products.

NAFDAC has warned the public against purchasing these unregistered products, emphasizing that they are not scientifically verified or approved by the agency. The investigation into the activities of the church and its affiliates is ongoing.
