The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) conducted searches at various supermarkets and open shops across Abuja yesterday.
In a statement shared on its X handle, NAFDAC announced that the operation was initiated based on intelligence reports from its Investigation and Enforcement Directorate. During the raids, several unregistered and counterfeit cosmetics were confiscated, with a total street value of N37 million.
The agency emphasized that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to eliminate counterfeit and illegally imported cosmetic products in the nation’s capital.
“NAFDAC is committed to investigating the sources of these illegal products and will take strict regulatory action against those involved. All confiscated items will be destroyed in accordance with the Agency’s laws and regulations to ensure public safety,” the statement read
