The family of late Afropop star IleriOluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has called on Pastor Larry Omodia, the promoter of the “Sing for Mohbad” concert, to suspend the event pending a legal ruling.
Mohbad’s father, Mr. Joseph Aloba, stressed that Omodia and his team should refrain from commercializing the singer’s death until the court decides on an application for an interlocutory injunction. The family’s lawyer, Emmanuel Oroko, Esq., argued the case in court, with Justice Osunfisan issuing an interim injunction prohibiting Omodia from holding the “Sing for Mohbad and Win” event, initially scheduled for September 12-14, 2024, at Aqua Lounge.
The court order, which lasts for seven days, restricts Omodia and his agents from organizing the concert until the originating motion for the injunction, filed on September 6, 2024, is heard. The case has been adjourned to October 7, 2024. Mohbad’s family also urged the public to respect the solemnity of the period and avoid exploiting their son’s passing for commercial gain.
