In a vibrant post on Instagram, she shared the excitement surrounding the project, stating, “BLOOD SISTERS SEASON 2 IN THE WORKS. I’m thrilled to share that BLOOD SISTERS 2 is officially in motion, and we had the most amazing table read this past week!”

Abudu highlighted the extensive development process, which spanned 18 months, involving talented writers Craig Freimond, Zeli Zulu, and Adze Ugah. She confirmed that nearly all of the beloved characters will return for the new season.

The first season was helmed by directors Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang, while the second season will see Daniel Oriahi and Kayode Kasum taking the reins. Oriahi is known for his acclaimed psychological thriller The Weekend, while Kasum has directed several popular films, including Sugar Rush and Soole.

The cast also includes Genoveva Umeh, Kate Henshaw, Kehinde Bankole, and several others.

Abudu expressed her gratitude to Netflix for their continued support and emphasized that fans can expect plenty of twists and drama when the new season eventually airs. “While it’s still a little while before BLOOD SISTERS 2 hits your screens, we are in pre-production and gearing up for filming in just a few weeks!” she concluded.
