Dr. Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, has condemned the alleged statement by former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, calling for protests from Nigerians. In a statement by Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence, Matawalle criticized Amaechi’s remarks, labeling them as reckless and irresponsible.

Amaechi is reported to have urged Nigerian youths to rise in protest against the government’s policies. In response, Matawalle accused him of inciting violence and undermining national peace and stability. He urged Amaechi to desist from making inflammatory statements, especially at a time when President Bola Tinubu is actively working on reforms to address the country’s challenges.

Matawalle stressed that the government is committed to protecting the peace and security of all Nigerians and warned against any attempts to destabilize the nation through incitement. He called on Amaechi to support the government’s efforts to move the country forward, rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric.
