The founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Evang. Mike Bamiloye, has shared that his chief groomsman bought the suit and shirt he wore on his wedding day because he could not afford them. He also revealed that financial constraints prevented him from taking his wife on a honeymoon.

In a post on his official Facebook account, Bamiloye explained that they spent their honeymoon in an apartment rented by his sister. He wrote, “When I got married, I didn’t have any money to take my wife to honeymoon. We stayed in the house that we just rented. No Money for Honeymoon.”

He elaborated, saying, “It was my Big Sister who rented the flat for me so that I wouldn’t bring my wife to her house. It was my Best Man who bought my suit and shirt so that I could wear the same thing with him.”

Bamiloye also noted that his shoes and socks were purchased by his sister-in-law and that he and his wife struggled to afford a wedding gown. “We went around to see where we could rent a wedding gown and found a place, but we needed to come back with the money. Fortunately, a sister in our ministry helped us with the deposit for the gown.”

He admitted that he could not pay for their court wedding, stating, “The cost for court marriage was very small—around N170.00 (One Hundred and Seventy Naira)—but we couldn’t afford it. We took the forms but never returned because we couldn’t get the money.”

Bamiloye emphasized that all the money received on their wedding day went towards settling debts incurred before the event. “Two days after our wedding, we had no money left,” he concluded
