Ufa Dania has made history as the first plus-sized contestant in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. Challenging traditional beauty standards, Dania is a dark-skinned, plus-sized model representing Kwara State.
In her introduction video, Dania emphasizes her desire to redefine beauty standards, stating, “Let’s redefine what it means to be a queen.” She reflects on her life journey, noting, “I cannot be boxed,” and shares her experiences with bullying and self-doubt due to her appearance.
Despite facing criticism and negativity on social media, Dania remains resilient and confident. She highlights the importance of inner qualities over physical appearance, asserting that true queens are those who address and support their communities’ needs.
Currently, Dania ranks third in public votes for the competition, with Chidimma Adetshina and Edeifo Aikhuele leading in first and second places, respectively.
