Nollywood actress Lolo has shed light on a growing trend of body modifications among men, pointing out that while it may not be widely discussed in Africa, it is more common than many realize. During a recent episode of her Say My Piece podcast, Lolo highlighted that men are increasingly seeking cosmetic enhancements, though it remains less visible compared to the trend among women.
Lolo stated, “Today we have a very interesting topic that we want to talk about, and whether you like it or not, it has become the norm. I know a lot of times we say that women do body enhancements more, but let me shock you, men are also into body modification.”
She acknowledged that while body modifications are not yet a major topic of discussion in Africa, the practice is gaining traction. “Men do it a lot, but we’re just not focusing on it in Africa just yet,” she explained, noting that although women still undergo body enhancements more frequently, men are starting to embrace these procedures as well.
Lolo mentioned that cosmetic procedures such as Botox, facelifts, and other enhancements are becoming increasingly popular among men. “I’ve seen some men who have subtly done facelifts in Nigeria. Sometimes it’s the chin and around their eyes to tighten the face a little. Men even take Botox,” she revealed. She cited Charly Boy, a prominent figure who has openly discussed his use of Botox, as an example.
The actress also pointed out that in other parts of the world, men commonly undergo a variety of cosmetic procedures, including liposuction, fake abs, and even penis enlargement. Lolo’s comments highlight a broader global trend where body modifications are becoming mainstream for both men and women.
