The Police Command in Anambra has launched an investigation into the deaths of three individuals, including an orphan named Chubuzor Onyesoh, following a land dispute between the Enugwu-Ukwu and Nwafia communities in the Njikoka area.

According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the command’s Public Relations Officer, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, has ordered a thorough investigation after visiting the crime scene. The CP has urged both factions involved to remain calm while the police ensure prompt resolution of the issue.

Preliminary reports indicate that the victims were lured to the disputed land area under the pretense of a land transaction, where they were subsequently attacked with guns and machetes. The vehicle used by the suspects has been recovered, and the police are committed to apprehending those responsible for the killings. The remains of the deceased have been placed in the morgue.

Chief Patrick Nworji, the President-General of Enugwu-Ukwu Community, has reported heightened tension within the community and is working to manage the situation. Mazi Christian Beluchukwu, a local resident, condemned the killings and called on the police and security agencies to capture the perpetrators.
