The Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, has instructed the contractor in charge of the LagosHOMS housing scheme in Ajara, Badagry, to meet the project deadline or face consequences. During a site inspection with the Ministry’s technical team, Akinderu-Fatai emphasized the state’s commitment to completing all ongoing housing projects to the highest standards within Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s tenure.
The project, which includes 420 housing units across 35 blocks of one-, two-, and three-bedroom flats, is aimed at providing quality homes for low- and medium-income earners. While expressing satisfaction with the progress and quality of the construction, the commissioner stressed the importance of sticking to the delivery timeline to hand over the homes to the allottees as planned.
Akinderu-Fatai also reiterated the use of high-quality materials for the project, ensuring long-term convenience and cost savings for future homeowners. He further reassured residents of Lagos West senatorial district that the government is on track to significantly boost the housing stock in the area.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Housing, Engr. Abdulhafis Toriola, added that contractors should ensure all materials are approved by the Ministry’s technical team before installation to maintain the high standards expected for the project.
