The Lagos State Government’s commitment to enforcing environmental laws and ensuring public safety was recently reaffirmed with the launch of a clearance operation under the Idumota Bridge. The area, known for harboring criminal elements and illegal activities, was targeted as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to maintain cleaner and safer spaces for its residents.
The clearance operation was shared via a video on the official social media handle of Tokunbo Wahab, Lagos Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources. The operation is a result of expired notices, and the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) alongside other officials are diligently removing debris and materials from the area to restore the space.
The government has emphasized that this initiative is a significant step towards achieving a cleaner, safer Lagos, with a focus on public safety and environmental compliance.
