LAGBAJA ORDERS INVESTIGATION INTO ALLEGED KILLING OF 3 LOCALS, CATTLE IN KADUNA

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has directed an investigation into allegations that Nigerian troops killed three locals and several cattle in the Sabon Birni community of Kaduna State.

Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, announced the investigation in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna. The probe was initiated following disturbing reports and graphic images circulated on social and mainstream media, accusing the troops of committing the act during a recent operation in Igabi Local Government Area.

Nwachukwu expressed the Nigerian Army’s condolences to the affected families and the Sabon Birni community. He assured the public that the allegation would be thoroughly examined and that any personnel found responsible would face appropriate sanctions.

The Army emphasized its commitment to protecting citizens and assured that the investigation would reveal the full details of the incident. Nwachukwu called for calm and pledged that the findings of the investigation would be made public.
