The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KwSUBEB) has announced plans to hire 1,611 teaching and non-teaching staff across the state’s 16 local government areas (LGAs). This recruitment, according to KwSUBEB’s Press Secretary, Aminat Atere, is based on a needs assessment recently conducted across the educational bodies in these LGAs.
The Board’s Chairman, Prof. Shehu Adaramaja, revealed that the employment would include 695 Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree holders, 605 National Certificate of Education (NCE) holders, 200 security guards, and 111 other non-teaching staff categories. The recruitment process follows Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s approval to fill vacancies created by retirements, deaths, or transfers.
Prof. Adaramaja noted that the recruitment would adopt a community-based approach, ensuring that competence and qualifications are not compromised. The hiring will take place at the local government level or in nearby communities where their services are most needed. Successful candidates will be required to sign a bond, committing to remain in their new roles for the first five years without transfer.
