Kogi poll: Supreme Court, INEC under fire amid over-voting controversy

< 1 mn read

As Edo and Ondo States prepare for their gubernatorial elections in September, a group of concerned Kogi State citizens is urging the Supreme Court to address alleged irregularities in the recent Kogi governorship election. They have expressed strong objections to the reported overvoting and misuse of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which they claim violated INEC regulations.

The group has criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for dismissing these issues on technical grounds and has called on the Supreme Court to consider the substantive evidence rather than technicalities. They argue that ignoring BVAS fraud undermines democratic integrity and are appealing for justice to ensure the electoral process remains fair and transparent.
