The Kaduna State Government has affirmed its commitment to completing the ongoing 63 road network projects across the state within the stipulated timeframe. This assurance was made by Dr. Abdullahi Baba Ahmed, the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), during a press conference held in Kaduna.

Dr. Ahmed announced that the total length of these roads exceeds 700 kilometers and emphasized that the initiative aims not only to serve current communities but also to benefit future generations. “Governor Uba Sani’s administration is dedicated to addressing the needs of the rural poor, who have often felt marginalized and disconnected from the dividends of democracy,” he stated.

Tangible Development in Communities

The progress in road development has led to jubilation among citizens, particularly as they witness tangible improvements in their communities, including enhanced access roads, the installation of streetlights, and other critical infrastructural projects. Dr. Ahmed highlighted the importance of well-constructed roads as the backbone of economic activities, facilitating connections between farmers and markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.

“The achievements we celebrate thus far are not just about roads and bridges; they represent our commitment to building a more connected, prosperous, and inclusive Kaduna State,” he added.

Specific Projects Underway

Among the significant projects initiated by the administration is the construction of a 22.5-kilometer asphalt road from Gwantu in Sanga Local Government Area through Kibam to Godogodo, linking over 65 farming communities, including those in Jema’a Local Government Area.

Additionally, the reconstruction and upgrading of asphalt access roads within the Old Panteka Market area of Kaduna State (including Lemu, Enugu, and Malam Madori Roads) are currently in progress. Another key project includes the reconstruction of a 6-kilometer asphalt road from Rafin Guza to Hayin Nariya, connecting Malalin Gabas to Kukumaki and linking the ongoing construction at the Kaduna State University (KASU) Permanent Site.

The Kaduna State Government’s focus on road development underscores its commitment to enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth in the region, paving the way for a more integrated and prosperous future.
