The Police Command in Kaduna State has announced the detention of two suspects involved in vandalizing air-conditioners (ACs) at government properties in the area.
On September 21, Ibrahim Yusuf, Registrar of the Kaduna State High Court, reported an incident at the court complex, where unknown individuals pretended to be technicians sent by the Chief Judge’s office to repair ACs in the chambers and offices of judges and chief magistrates. Instead of performing repairs, they vandalized and removed all the ACs from the complex.
Suspicions arose, and further inquiries revealed that no one had sent these individuals. It was discovered that similar vandalism occurred at the Barnawa court complex and Upper Shari’a Court, Tudun Wada Kaduna.
During the investigation, police detained one Salim Sani, who confessed to the crimes. This led authorities to the shop of Moses Adekunle, where eight 1.5-horsepower split ACs were recovered. All the stolen ACs were taken from the Ibrahim Taiwo Road court complex. The police stated that investigations are ongoing, and once completed, all suspects connected to the crime will face charges in court.
