Juventus head coach Thiago Motta has opted not to address the swirling rumors regarding the potential termination of Paul Pogba’s contract following news of a reduction in his doping ban.

PAUL POGBA’S RETURN AMID DOPING CONTROVERSY
Pogba, who previously faced a four-year ban after elevated testosterone levels were detected in his system, has consistently maintained his innocence. The former Manchester United star appealed his suspension at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), which recently ruled in his favor, reducing his ban to 18 months. This decision means Pogba could make his return to football in March 2025.

JUVENTUS AND POGBA’S CHECKERED HISTORY
Since rejoining Juventus from Manchester United at the start of the 2022/23 season, Pogba has struggled with injuries, making only 12 appearances before his suspension. Speculation about the club’s intentions regarding his contract surfaced even before the ban, suggesting that Juventus might consider terminating his deal.

While these reports faded during his suspension, they have resurfaced as Pogba’s return date approaches. When questioned about the matter in a recent press conference, Motta deflected responsibility, stating that the decision on Pogba’s future lies with the club.

MOTTA’S STANCE
Motta remarked, “The club will decide what to do about Pogba. Pogba was a great player… he hasn’t played for a long time. I’m only focused on the present,” emphasizing his commitment to the current squad rather than speculation about Pogba’s future.

As Juventus navigates this complex situation, the focus remains on the team’s performance and upcoming fixtures, with Pogba’s potential return adding an intriguing layer to their season.
