Christiana Idowu, a student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), was tragically killed by her abductor after being kidnapped in Lagos. The abduction occurred between Ikorodu and Yaba, while Christiana was undergoing industrial training at the University of Lagos.
The kidnappers initially demanded ₦3 million in ransom. Despite negotiating down to ₦350,000, Christiana was not released. The abductor, who had a connection with Christiana through social media, was tracked down and apprehended through banking details associated with the ransom payment.
The Student Union Government (SUG) of FUNAAB has confirmed Christiana’s death and plans to address the matter further. Both the Lagos State Police and Christiana’s family have yet to publicly comment on the case. The tragic event has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about student safety in Lagos.
