Junior Pope: “You never celebrated him when he was alive, so why celebrating him now” – Actress Ruth Eze calls out Nollywood hypocrites
Nollywood actress Ruth Eze has blown hot at those of her colleagues celebrating their late colleague, Junior Pope’s posthumous birthday.
Kemi Filani reported in March that the actor lost his life after drowning at Anam River in Anambra State alongside some crew members. Yesterday, May 7th would have been his 44th birthday and as such, many of his colleagues took to their Instagram pages to mourn him.
Ruth Eze questioned if some of them celebrated him when he was alive. She stated that if No, then they should give her one reason why they are celebrating him now that he is dead.
Calling them hypocrites, she told them to answer her.
“Did u ever celebrate him when he was alive? If NO, give me one reason u’re celebrating him now he’s dead”.
“Hypocrites, pls answer me”.
Although Ruth Eze didn’t mention any names, many via her comment section decoded that she was referring to Baba Rex, who had put up a post for him and had locked his comment section. In his birthday message, he noted how they would have been celebrating his birthday. However, since he hadn’t been laid to rest, he wished him a happy birthday.
Rita Edochie, who was like his godmother, noted how she could no longer celebrate his birthday with him physically. She stated that her heart once more felt shattered as she threw some questions at him, revealing she takes solace in knowing that he is watching over them.
Rachael Okonkwo expressed heartbreak over how she can no longer call him to wish him a happy birthday. She prayed for God to accept his soul and promised he would forever remain in her heart.
Stanley Nwoko noted how this was his first birthday without his family, fans and colleagues. He expressed how saddened his heart is that they can’t see him anymore as he noted how death took him away like a thief. However, he gives thanks to God.
Yul Edochie’s estranged wife, May, had penned an emotional note to Junior Pope’s widow, stating that she can’t imagine what it feels like for her, as she noted how posthumous birthdays could refresh all the sad memories and leave in stumped in thoughts.
Sharing screenshots of Junior Pope’s last messages to his wife, she threw several questions at him and revealed why his death is antagonising.
