Julian Alvarez has paid tribute to Manchester City after officially leaving Pep Guardiola’s side on Monday.
The Argentina striker completed a permanent transfer to Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
His move to Spain brings an end to a hugely successful two-year stay at the Etihad Stadium.
The 24-year-old had joined City from River Plate in 2022.
Reacting to his departure from the Premier League champions, Alvarez told Man City’s website: “Today I say goodbye to this amazing club, with a lot of emotion.
“The fans, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the great support and for making me feel at home from the very first day.
“Manchester City will always have a special place in my heart. I wish you every success in the future and I will keep on supporting the club wherever I may be.”
