Governor Namadi of Jigawa State has established a five-member committee to investigate serious allegations of infidelity against the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Sankara. The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Bala Ibrahim, in Dutse on Sunday.

Ibrahim emphasized that the state government considered the severity of the allegations, which have caused significant embarrassment and harmed the reputation of the government. “The government is compelled to set up a committee to investigate the allegations,” he stated.

The committee will be chaired by Malam Bala Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government, and is expected to submit its findings within two weeks. Other members of the committee include the Commissioners for Information, Sagir Musa; Basic Education, Lawal Danzomo; and the Special Adviser on Security Matters, Mr. Usman Muhammed.

The allegations stem from reports that Sankara was arrested by the Kano Hisbah Commission while in an uncompleted building with a married woman. However, Sankara has denied the accusations, claiming they are part of a smear campaign aimed at tarnishing his political career.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Hisbah Commission in Kano, Abba Sufi, has confirmed that Sankara is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday. The unfolding situation highlights the government’s commitment to addressing allegations that may impact its integrity and public perception.
