Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, a Nollywood actor and pastor, shared his profound emotional experience following the sudden death of his mother, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, in 2005. On the Truth Table podcast, hosted by his sister, Pastor Tolu Odukoya, Jimmy revealed that losing a family member was his greatest fear at the time, and the loss of his mother, whom he described as the most important woman in his life, was devastating.

He discussed how the grief he experienced brought him to a critical juncture in his faith. He felt as though he had two choices: either abandon his faith in anger and frustration or confront his pain while staying true to his beliefs. Ultimately, he chose the latter, deciding to face his grief head-on rather than walking away from his faith.

Jimmy compared his emotional state to that of a battered soldier in battle, feeling lifeless and broken. However, he found solace in a message he received from God, which reminded him that, having faced his worst fear, he was now fearless and could no longer be easily threatened or scared. This message helped him find strength and continue his faith journey despite the profound loss.
