Israel vowed to retaliate following an Iranian missile attack on Tuesday, with army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari stating that the country would respond at a time and place of its choosing.
“This attack will have consequences. We have plans, and we will operate at the place and time we decide,” Hagari declared.
LARGE NUMBER OF IRANIAN MISSILES INTERCEPTED
Israel’s military reported that it intercepted a significant number of missiles fired by Iran, noting that there were a few “hits” during the barrage.
“We have carried out a large number of interceptions. There were a few hits in the center and other areas in the south of the country,” Hagari added.
US FORCES READY TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
American forces are prepared to offer “additional defensive support” to Israel after assisting in its defense against the Iranian missile attack, according to a US defense official on Tuesday.
“Our forces remain postured to provide additional defensive support and to protect US forces operating in the region” after “defending against Iranian-launched missiles targeting Israel,” the official stated, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
GERMANY CALLS FOR AN END TO IRAN’S ATTACK ON ISRAEL
Germany has demanded that Iran immediately cease its missile attacks on Israel, expressing concerns that escalating conflict could lead to further turmoil in the region.
“I condemn the ongoing attack in the strongest possible terms,” said Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on X, urging that “Iran must stop the attack immediately” as it was “leading the region further towards the abyss.”
