Israel is set to release 602 prisoners on Saturday as part of a deal with Hamas in exchange for hostages, in connection with an ongoing ceasefire. Among the 602 individuals, 445 are from Gaza, arrested following Hamas’ attack on October 7, which ignited the war. The prisoners include those with long sentences, life sentences, and some re-arrested after being freed in a 2011 prisoner swap. Additionally, 108 of them will be deported outside of Israel and the Palestinian territories.
