The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB) has expressed deep concerns about the worsening health of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and has demanded his immediate release from detention to prevent severe repercussions.
In a statement issued by Emma Powerful, IPoB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, the group alleged that there is a coordinated effort involving the Nigerian government, judiciary, DSS operatives, and certain Igbo politicians to eliminate Kanu.
The statement warned of serious consequences for Nigeria and those responsible for Kanu’s detention if his health deteriorates further while in custody. IPoB emphasized that Kanu’s continued detention violates court orders and urged the international community and human rights organizations to intervene and secure his release.
Despite court rulings declaring his detention unlawful, concerns about Kanu’s health and well-being persist. IPoB affirmed that the struggle for Biafran self-determination will persist undeterred by Kanu’s detention.
